The blade and tang are made of 1/8” thick, 420 cutlery grade stainless steel with a hardness of 52/53 Rockwell. The tang extends down ¾ the length of the handle (see picture). The blade is easily sharpened using conventional methods.
The handle on the HandAxe is textured for a positive grip and is made from virtually unbreakable fiber-reinforced polystyrene. The handle has a three-sided shape, which also adds to user comfort and a positive grip. The design has won national design awards (Retailers Choice, January2000).
